What does it cost to rent at G.E.D. Parkview Residence?
Rental Rates vary depending on single or shared occupancy. Each room is furnished with adjustable height beds, refrigerator, and microwave. Electric, hot and cold water, sewer, garbage, heat utilities are also included in the rental rates. The building also has wi-fi and expanded cable in both lounges.
Can I have a telephone and T.V. in my room?
Yes. In all rooms phone and cable/internet lines have been wired in. There are TV lounges with full cable service that are provided for your convenience.
Why live in a dormitory rather than living in an apartment?
After years of renting to students sharing an apartment, we have found that students can live more economically and "hassle free" if they have their own private room and simply share the other facilities when they choose to mix with the other students. This eliminates disputes over utility bills; who pays rent when one student chooses to move out; and disputes over a difference in "lifestyles" and "visiting friends."There is a resident manager who lives in the building. Residents are expected to abide by "house rules" typical of a dormitory.
Dormitory-style living is a fun experience with friendships formed that last for years among young people with similar interests...besides, you can't beat the cost!!!
What type of eating facilities are provided?
Student eating habits are very informal and GED Parkview Residence has been designed with that in mind. There is a full kitchen available 24 hours a day. Because many students prefer to eat in their rooms, a kitchen-depth sink is provided in each room as well as the kitchen for doing dishes. A personal-sized refrigerator and microwave are provided in each room. The students find these to be very convenient!
Are there any other advantages to living at GED Parkview Residence?
One of the best things about living at GED Parkview Residence is how convenient our location is! We are located just steps away from the St. Cloud Technical College. This is very convenient for those who don't have a car, have a car that doesn't like to start in our "wonderful" Minnesota winters, or those who would prefer to not have the hassle and expense of gas, driving back and forth, or scraping windshields! We are located right on the main bus line for the city and just steps away from the YMCA. We are also conveniently located to several eating establishments (both sit-down and fast food,) a major grocery store and the hospital.
How do I make a reservation at GED Parkview Residence?
First of all, please understand that there are a limited number of rooms, so rooms are available on an advanced reservation/first come-first served basis only. Students love the convenience and cost of living here, so rooms fill up fast! Those wishing to reserve a room should send in a reservation deposit of $250.00. For more information, call the rental office Monday - Friday at 320-252-9070 or by email. You can also set weekend appointments if necessary.
